Abstract. The disc contains a collection of interactive tours of 15 ancient Russian towns, capitals of ancient Russian principalities that made up the nucleus of Moscow state and further of Russia. The disc offers over 500 pages of text, 700 original slides, 25 minutes’ video, maps and charts depicting the history of Russia, its culture, architecture, crafts, traditions and customs. The tours highlight the cultural heritage, architecture, monuments and museum collections of each town. A special chapter is devoted to Verkhnaya Volga region, its history and the role in the making of the Russian state. A town’s map and chronicle, as well as reference information make the navigation an easy task.
