Informing and Familiarizing Academic Course Program for Foreign Professionals

This program is designed for the course oriented towards professionals arriving from foreign countries to work in Moscow and other regions of Russia. The course basic objective is to get attendees familiar with the realities of library and information environment of Russia. It is not a professional course because it is assumed that attendees already obtain basic professional knowledge. The proposed course is mostly informing and familiarizing. Lectures are the basic form of classes. Materials on library and information institutions activities obtained in class are illustrated during tours to related institutions. Studies of each division are completed by concluding seminar.

The course is planned for total 104 hours (including 14 hours for 7 tours). The course duration is 13 study days of 8 hours each day. On tour day 6 hours classes and tour are planned.
