The Seventh International Conference will be held in Sudak. Envisaged are 6 guest events in other Crimean towns: Yalta, Alushta, Feodosia, Koktebel, Simferopol and Stary Krym. Provided the weather is fine the conference participants will have a chance to get to Yalta and Alushta towns by sea. In this case those who will attend guest sessions in Yalta and Alushta will be able to enjoy sea cruises in the morning and in the evening the same day.

Please note, that one should sign for guest sessions in advance at special desk in the registration area on June 3 and June 4 from 9:00am through 6:00pm, and on June 5 from 9:00am through 12:00 (noon).

During the "Crimea 2000", the "Sudak" Tourist and Health Center will accommodate only the Conference participants. Guest events in other Crimean locales will help you discover new picturesque places of the Crimea!

A series of satellite events is also envisaged including annual conferences of library associations and professional groups.

The list of sections, round tables, workshops and additional events will be continuously updated and will be finalized by the Program Committee in March 2000.

Call for Papers

The Organizing Committee seeks original research and application oriented papers, not previously presented elsewhere, which make new contributions to the Conference topics listed below. You are invited to submit an abstract of your proposed paper for consideration by the Program Committee in the electronic form. The deadline for receipt of abstracts is March 15, 2000. The following guidelines should be observed in the preparation and submission of your abstracts:

  1. The abstract should be a precis of your paper and should not exceed 0.5-0.7 A4 page in length.
  2. The heading should include the title of your paper, followed by the names and affiliations of the author(s) and the name and address, FAX number and email address of the author who will be presenting the paper at the conference.
  3. Upon acceptance of abstracts, authors will be required to forward a full copy of their papers, in writing, by April 15, 2000. Anticipated length of accepted papers will be no more than 6 A4 pages.
  4. Abstracts for papers to be written and presented in the English language should be sent to Dr. Lester J. Pourciau, Deputy Chair, International Organizing Committee, Email: pourciau@alumni.idiana.edu.

Abstracts for papers to be written and presented in the Russian or Ukrainian languages should be sent to Dr. Yakov Shraiberg, Chair, International Organizing Committee, and First Deputy Director, Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology. Email: shra@gpntb.ru

Papers - up to 20 minutes, at some events - up to 15 minutes. Communications - up to 10 minutes.

Poster paper: 10 copies (to be provided by the speaker). Plenary and guest speakers' papers - up to 30 minutes.

The Program Committee reserves the right to include papers in this or that section or round table without prior consent of the author/s.

Conference Languages: English, Russian, Ukrainian.

Simultaneous interpretation will be provided at the Conference.

The Vendor Exhibits will be opened during the Conference to present information products, services, automated systems, software packages, CD-ROM products, books, journals, and other publications.

Companies' presentations may be arranged on a preliminary request.

E-mail, fax and the Internet services will be provided on the charged basis by a special service center.

You are kindly requested to complete the registration form and send it by fax or e-mail or register online no later than April 15, 2000

Conference registration fee covers:

  • participation in the Conference and free ticket to the Vendor Exhibits
  • the Conference proceedings and information materials
  • social and cultural events, including one-day cultural program (see the Registration Form)
  • Simferopol - Sudak - Simferopol bus transfer on the dates of arrival (June 3 and 4) and departure (June 10 and 11)
  • transportation for quest events to other towns of Crimea
  • organizational expenses for visa support in Moscow and Kiev.

The prices are subject to change after April 15, 2000.

Participants can register no more than 2 accompanying persons.

Privileges

Participants in four or more previous "Crimea" conferences will be entitled to free registration and free additional social events.

Chairpersons and the Crimean Club members, elected by the Conference Organizing Committee, will also receive a free conference registration.

Participants in the three previous "Crimea" conferences will be registered at a 50% discount of above mentioned prices.

Stand rental includes a table, 2 chairs, partitions and power socket.

  • three meals a day
